In 2016, Matthew Stafford emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, leading the Detroit Lions to a 9-7 record and a playoff berth. The defense was led by safety Glover Quin, who was an iron man, playing every snap in 2016.
Because of their outstanding seasons, Stafford and Quin were honored by their teammates, who voted them as offensive and defensive MVPs, respectively.

Stafford completed 65.3% of his passes for 4,327 yards and 24 touchdowns, while only throwing 10 interceptions. Were it not for his clutch play, there is no way the Lions would have pulled out nine victories.
Quin may have only had two interceptions in 2016, but he started all 16 games for the fourth consecutive season with the Lions.
