Matthew Stafford may not have been the Los Angeles Rams first choice

Assuming neither team backs out of the agreed-upon trade, Matthew Stafford will be the starting quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams when the 2021 season kicks off.

But according to a report from the Los Angeles Times, Stafford may not have been the Rams' first choice as they considered making a run at Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers but the Packers would not budge.

From Los Angeles Times:

Houston’s Deshaun Watson was out of their price range. They considered making a hard run at Aaron Rodgers, but Green Bay was adamant it wasn’t trading him.

Obviously, this should all be taken with a grain of salt but one thing is for sure, it sounds like the Rams were adamant about moving on from Jared Goff.
