When the Detroit Lions play on Sunday afternoon, it is going to be very odd to see Matthew Stafford in the opposing uniform for the first time as he is now the quarterback of the Los Angeles Rams.
During his time with the Lions, Stafford has some nice pieces around him from time to time but he never truly had a good all-around team like he currently has with the Rams.
Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press asked Stafford about the narrative that he never had enough talent around him to win with the Lions.
From Detroit Free Press:
“Oh, I don’t pay too much attention to it,” Stafford said. “When I was in Detroit, everybody was doing everything we could to try and make the team as good as we could, myself included.
“I’m in a new place now. I’m here in LA. I’m lucky to be surrounded by the people I’m surrounded with, there’s no doubt. … But I don’t spend too much time thinking about it or reading that narrative to be honest with you.”
Nation, do you think the Lions gave Stafford enough of a supporting cast while he was in Detroit?
