Michigan State RB Kenneth Walker III may have gotten snubbed out of the Heisman Trophy Ceremony but that does not mean he was not one of the best players in the nation this season.
On Thursday, Spartans head coach Mel Tucker gathered the team together so that he could reveal to Walker that he had won both the Doak Walker Award (best RB in the nation) and the Walter Camp Award (best player in the nation) for the 2021 season.
During the announcement, Tucker told the team how Walker came up to him after their final regular-season game and said, “coach, thank you for taking a chance on me.” Tucker said he responded by saying, “Taking a chance on you? Thank you for taking a chance on us.”
This is pretty damn awesome and Walker is clearly a pretty awesome kid with a bright future on and off of the football field.
