Football fans will soon be able to attend games in Michigan once again – albeit at limited capacities.
According to a memo sent to high school football executives and coaches by MHSAA executive director Mark Uyl, up to 1,000 fans will be permitted at outdoor football stadiums beginning October 9.

“Social distancing MUST be followed at all times for everyone except athletes in active participation during the contest,” Uyl wrote in the seven-point memo.
The decision comes following Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s signing of Executive Order No. 183, which allows for the increased gathering of people indoors and outdoors.
