In a recent appearance on the “Life In The Stands” podcast, Terrance Parsons, the father of Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, shared his thoughts on where he’d love to see his son play if a long-term deal with Dallas isn't worked out. And to the delight of Detroit Lions fans, one of the top teams on his list was Detroit.
Dream Duo: Parsons and Hutchinson in Detroit?
When asked about potential landing spots for his son, Terrance Parsons named his top three teams: Kansas City, Detroit, and Pittsburgh. “I know Pittsburgh fans is like, ‘whoa,'” Terrance joked as quoted by SideLion Report. “But, I’m sorry, him and (T.J.) Watt together would be like cheating. Him and (Aidan) Hutchinson together in Detroit would be like cheating. I love it.”
The idea of Micah Parsons, one of the NFL’s most dominant pass rushers, teaming up with Detroit's own Aidan Hutchinson has fans salivating at the potential. With both players boasting elite skills in the trenches, the combination would be a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks.
Detroit’s Past Interest in Parsons
While this may seem like a long shot, the Lions have shown significant interest in Parsons before. During the 2021 NFL Draft, Detroit was eyeing Parsons as a potential pick if he had fallen to No. 7 overall. Though the Lions ultimately went with Penei Sewell, the interest in Parsons was clear.
Now, with the Lions’ defense on the rise and Parsons becoming one of the top edge rushers in the league, the idea of bringing him to Detroit alongside Hutchinson isn’t too far-fetched. Parsons’ father certainly thinks it would be a game-changer for the Lions.
