On Sunday, the Detroit Lions trailed the Green Bay Packers 28-14 in the fourth quarter when Matthew Stafford unleashed a beautiful pass that Marvin Jones Jr. caught while toe-tapping before going out of bounds.
But as you probably know by now, the play was ruled incomplete and eventually upheld, despite it being obvious that Jones Jr. had made a legal catch.
Refs screw Detroit Lions, Matthew Stafford proceeds to rub it in their faces
Following the game, Jones Jr. spoke to the media and made it pretty clear that he believes he made the catch and stayed in bounds.
“I knew I had it. Obviously, when I caught the ball, my feet were down. … Both my feet were down when the ball was in my hands. I don’t know if I can say too much without getting in trouble.”
In addition to believing he caught the ball, Jones Jr., who was mic’d up, also said that a couple of refs felt the same way.
“I don’t know if I can say too much without getting in trouble, but I definitely think it was a catch. And I was actually mic’d up and there were a couple refs that thought it was a catch, too. So we’ll just leave it at that.”
Wow! I cannot wait to see the Lions ‘Sights and Sounds’ video this week. (Though I would bet they leave that part out)
I’m tired of all this cheating. Ref getting paid to cheat the Detroit Lions every year.It never going to st
It’s all about money!!!!!!!!!!!!
