Michigan AD Warde Manuel hints at Wolverines’ next basketball coach

It has been quite a day for Michigan basketball fans.

First, it was a Monday so that was not great but to make matters worse, news broke that John Beilein was leaving the Wolverines to become head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

After the shock of the situation started to die off a bit, the speculation began as to would would replace Beilein as head coach at Michigan.

Names tossed around included some of Beilein’s assistants along with established head coaches such as Jay Wright and Billy Donovan.

On Monday evening, Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel spoke to the media and he gave a big hint as to which type of coach he wants to hire.

“If I can get a proven coach, someone who has a track record as a head coach, that’s what I’d like to see.”

As expected, Warde did not mention specific names, but it sounds like he wants to stick with experience.

Nation, who would you like Michigan to hire?
