We may be in the thick of the college football season but if you have been paying attention to college hoops, you realize something special is going on with the University of Michigan basketball.
After advancing all the way to the NCAA Championship Game in April, the Wolverines knew they would have their work cut out for them if they want to make another run this season.

Well, so far, so good for Michigan as they are off to a 5-0 start on the season.
Not only have the Wolverines’ won their first five games but it’s how they have gone about their business which has been impressive. Up to this point, Michigan is allowing just 47 points per contest while scoring just over 68. Their defense has been absolutely suffocating as only one team (George Washington) has been able to score over 47 points vs. the Wolverines.
Each week, college hoops reporter Andy Katz releases his Top 36 Power Rankings and this week, Michigan skyrocketed all the way from No. 20 to No. 6.
Here is what Katz has to say about the Wolverines:
“The Wolverines had the best week of any team, trouncing Villanova and then in a quick turnaround beating George Washington and Providence at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. The Wolverines have the look of being a team that could get to the top of the Big Ten and compete for a deep run.”
Up next for Michigan is a home game on Nov. 23 against Chattanooga before hosting North Carolina (No. 5 in Katz’s rankings) on Nov. 28. They will play their first Big Ten game of the season on Dec. 1 at home against the Purdue Boilermakers.
What do you think, Nation? What is the ceiling for the 2018-2019 Michigan basketball team? Are they good enough to get all the way back to the Final Four or is what they have done early on this season just fool’s gold?
