The Michigan football season came to an abrupt end on New Year’s Eve when they were beaten by TCU in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Fiesta Bowl. Now, the Wolverines have shifted gears toward the 2023 season, where the team is expected to look different than it currently does. Just moments ago, news broke that Wolverines CB DJ Turner has made his NFL decision.
What decision did Michigan CB DJ Turner make?
According to a report from The Wolverine, Turner has made the decision to declare for the 2023 NFL Draft.
From The Wolverine:
Senior cornerback DJ Turner has declared for the 2023 NFL Draft, he announced. He has two years of eligibility remaining, after redshirting as a freshman in 2018 and receiving a COVID year in 2020, but will take his shot at the professional level. Turner graduated from U-M in December.
The 6-0, 180-pounder started 23 games at cornerback during his UM career (14 in 2022, eight in 2021 and one in 2020) and was at his best this season. Turner took over starting duties partway through the 2021 campaign, didn’t give up the job in 2022 and emerged as the team’s top cover man.
This is a tough loss for the Wolverines, but it is likely a solid decision for him in terms of his future.
