Michigan coach Juwan Howard: “Painful” week awaits Wolverines

Juwan Howard's Michigan Wolverines have stumbled to a 1-3 record in their past four games after a sizzling hot 7-0 start.

Yesterday's 71-70 OT loss to Oregon left a bitter taste in Howard's mouth, and he discussed the rough road they have ahead of them as they regroup.

“All the guys in that locker room, they're hurt right now,” said Howard. “So am I.”

“It's going to be a tough week, man,” said Howard. “It's going to be a tough week for all us, because we all care. We care about one another, we care about the results, whether it's a win or a loss. And when you lose two in a row, it's going to sting, because we're human. I'm not going to sit up here and just give you some type of politically correct answer.

“We have Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, to think about two losses, and it's going to be painful.”

It's going to be a difficult week due to the fact that the feeling from Saturday's heartbreaker loss is going to linger for the full six days the team isn't playing. They're back in action on Saturday against Presbyterian Blue Hose.

“It stings a lot,” said Brandon Johns. “We thought we had it, we all thought we had it, that tip-in looked so close. But obviously everything happens in life for a reason, and we just need to bounce back.”
