Michigan’s running back room may be getting a familiar face back after a brief flirtation with the transfer portal.
Former walk-on Bryson Kuzdzal, who entered the portal earlier this offseason, is expected to withdraw his name and return to Ann Arbor, according to a source who spoke with WolverinesWire on the condition of anonymity.
Pressed into action due to injuries to Jordan Marshall and Justice Haynes, Kuzdzal made the most of his chance. He rushed for 100 yards in his first career start against Maryland and finished the season with 326 yards and four touchdowns on 76 carries. For a former walk-on, that kind of production and trust from the new coaching staff speaks volumes.
With Michigan expected to lean heavily on its ground game again in 2026, having a proven, reliable runner like Kuzdzal back in the fold adds valuable depth and experience to an already talented running back room.
