Michigan football’s quarterback room continues to evolve as redshirt sophomore Jayden Denegal has announced he will enter the NCAA transfer portal. Denegal, who began his career under head coach Jim Harbaugh, made the decision to leave the program after the 2024 season, in which he was seen as a reserve option and did not play in any games.
“I have loved my time at the University of Michigan,” Denegal wrote in a post shared on social media. “I have had an opportunity to develop in one of the most iconic football programs in the nation.”
Denegal, often considered the fifth option, likely saw limited playing time in his future, prompting his decision to enter the transfer portal.
