The Michigan Wolverines got answers from a pair of their quarterbacks on the roster on Monday. First it was the third-string backup fourth-year junior Shane Morris announcing that he will leave the program as a grad transfer, and will be eligible to play immediately in 2017.
And another fourth-year junior backup on the current roster, John O’Korn, announced that he would return to Michigan for a fifth season in 2017.

O’Korn’s story is pretty well-told already. He spent his first two college seasons (2013-14) at the University of Houston, where in 19 games played he threw for over 4,000 yards, 34 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. He had to sit out the 2015 season due to NCAA transfer rules and played in eight games for Michigan this year, almost all of that action coming in blowouts. O’Korn started one game late against Indiana when the starter Wilton Speight was injured. He was just 7/16 for 59 yards in that game. On the season, he was 20/34 for 173 yards and two touchdowns.
O’Korn will be a part of a quarterback group that will involve this year’s starter Speight, freshman Brandon Peters who redshirted this season, and incoming 5-star freshman Dylan McCaffrey.
