The good news for the Michigan State Spartans is that head coach Mel Tucker is on the verge of a massive contract extension. The bad news is that the first game after the news of the upcoming contract was put out was an absolutely brutal loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Ohio State outclassed Tucker’s Spartans in every way this afternoon, a 56-7 laugher in Columbus to drop the Spartans to 9-2.
“We got blasted today,” said Tucker. “That’s what it was.”
The Buckeyes led 49-0 after two quarters of play in a game that saw Heisman Trophy candidate Kenneth Walker III limited to only 25 yards of rushing. And Tucker is eager to put it behind them.
“I don’t want to hear a word on the bus or on the plane,” Tucker said. “We got a 38-minute flight. There’s nothing to talk about. Let’s get showered up, get dressed and get the heck out of here. Get back to East Lansing and get back to work — and guys that can’t do that will be confronted.”
