The Michigan State Spartans have landed their first recruit since the end of the early signing period of December 20-22, receiving a commitment from 3-star Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) wide receiver Jalen Nailor.

Nailor will be able to complete the process by sending a national letter of intent on Wednesday.

During an official visit in mid-January, Nailor was impressed with Michigan State, and said that he was “all in”.

“I literally loved everything about it,” Nailor said. “I was blown away.”

“It was a true family feeling being around the players, coaches and all of the academic people we met with. Everyone was just so down to earth.”

He was hosted by wide receiver Cody White, a former true freshman in his own right, who impressed upon Nailor the laurels of Spartans football and the blue-collar atmosphere.

“[He told me] that it’s a very proud and hard-working program,” Nailor said of White. “Everything is earned.”

According to the 247Sports composite ratings, the 5’11, 170 lb Nailor is the no. 136 wide receiver in the 2018 class, and ranks eighth overall among seniors in the state of Nevada. He’s no. 907 overall. He joins fellow signees Julian Major and Javez Alexander, and will look to help Michigan State offset the losses of Trishton Jackson and Hunter Rison, who decided to transfer.

The Spartans will also return their top three receivers in Felton Davis, Darrell Stewart Jr. and Cody White.

Nailor helped Bishop Gorman win its ninth straight state championship, amassing 41 receptions for 807 yards and 12 touchdowns during his senior year.
