On Thursday, the Michigan State Spartans picked up their 10th win of the season by defeating Washington State in the Holiday Bowl.

Two days later, the Spartans took a loss when former 4-star quarterback recruit Messiah deWeaver announced via his Twitter account that he is transferring from MSU.

After much thought and prayer about my future, I’ve decided to transfer from Michigan State University! I want to thank Coach Dantonio, the coaching staff, my teammates, faculty, and the great fans in East Lansing for supporting me and giving me lasting memories that I’ll never forget! I’m looking forward to the challenges and goals that I have set high for myself! It was a blessing to grow and to be part of Spartan Nation! My journey contines…#GoGreen

With Brian Lewerke grabbing the starting quarterback duties at MSU and never looking back, it’s no surprise that deWeaver decided to look elsewhere for playing time.

Bowl season is now well underway, and the Big Ten is off to a great start. Entering Saturday, the conference has a bowl record of 5-0, which is the best bowl record of any conference.

Michigan State did their part in knocking off Washington State in Thursday’s Holiday Bowl, by a score of 42-17. The Spartans’ season may be over and a perfect bowl record for the Big Ten might still be on the line, but that isn’t stopping one of their captains from spewing his hatred towards Michigan.
