BREAKING: Michigan State Spartans star recruit Rocket Watts Injured

Spartan basketball just got some bad news. Four-star recruit and No. 1 high school point guard in Michigan, Rocket Watts has torn his rotator cuff.

Watts is a 6’2″ guard attending the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.  As a junior, Watts (a Michigan native) played for Old Redford where he averaged 26.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 3.1 steals per game. For his senior season, Watts opted for SPIRE after Old Redford fired head coach Craig Covington.

The prized recruit verbally committed to Michigan State in September of 2018 and is expected to sign with the Spartans on April 17th.

This news comes as the Spartans are preparing for their sweet sixteen game against LSU. There is no timetable on his return to the court at this time.
