Second year Michigan State Spartans head coach Mel Tucker has exceeded every possible expectation that was in place upon his arrival in East Lansing last year, currently having led his team to a pristine 9-1 record while being ranked No. 7 in the nation.
There have been rumors circulating about a new contract extension for Tucker, but that a school administrator that is none other than president Samuel Stanley was holding up the process. The news was circulated yesterday by Rico Beard and Mike Valenti of 97.1 the Ticket.
Brianna T. Scott, who was elected to the MSU Board of Trustees for an eight-year term that began in January of 2019, took to social media to dispel rumors that the school president was holding up negotiations.
Listen, the President Stanley rumors (as they relate to MSU negotiations with Coach Tucker) are completely FALSE!!!! Believe me, WE want Coach Tucker to stay, and this is a collective effort between the BOT and President Stanley to retain Coach Tucker! #TuckComin
