Michigan State’s Kenneth Walker III recaps his incredible performance against Michigan

The Michigan State Spartans earned a dramatic come-from-behind victory over their in-state rival Michigan Wolverines this afternoon in East Lansing, and there was one player in the green and white who stood out above the rest.

Lake Forest transfer Kenneth Walker III continues to make a serious case for the Heisman Trophy, rushing for 197 yards and five touchdowns and electrifying the crowd at Spartan Stadium.

Needless to say, they were indeed prepared for this afternoon.

“Coaches talked about being ready and prepared, and I believe we were prepared for this game,” Walker explained afterwards.

The Wolverines enjoyed a comfortable lead midway through the third quarter. But a devastating offensive attack led by Walker set the stage for a dramatic comeback as the host Spartans earned 23 of the final 26 points.

“I just felt like we just had to continue to fight,” Walker said. “That’s what coach Tucker came in and told us (at halftime). And that’s just what we did.”

For head coach Mel Tucker, the appropriate consideration that Walker III is building up for himself has absolutely been earned.

“Any recogntion he’s getting for Heisman consideration is well-deserved,” Tucker said.
