On Tuesday morning, the Detroit Free Press dropped a report claiming that Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio was trying to flip Walled Lake Western quarterback Sam Johnson from Boston College.

How did Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio spend his Tuesday morning?
Trying to convince Walled Lake Western quarterback Sam Johnson III to flip from Boston College and become a Spartan.
Dantonio was spotted at Western and with no quarterback in the 2019 class, he made another pitch at the senior quarterback, who spent the weekend at BC on an official visit.
Johnson has been committed to BC since May. When offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler, who helped recruit Johnson, left to become the head coach at Bowling Green last week, schools immediately started calling Johnson.
Sam Johnson II said his son was 100 percent committed to BC before the official visit. The family made the trip over the weekend with Johnson sporting an Eagles’ jersey on his Twitter account.
Well, one person who seems to disagree with that report is….drumroll, please…
MARK DANTONIO!
On Tuesday evening, Dantonio took to Twitter to call out the Detroit Free Press, specifically calling out the report that he was trying to flip Sam Johnson III, “fake news.”
Luckily, I anticipated Dantonio getting cold feet and deleting the tweet, so I took a screenshot. Sure enough, he deleted the tweet within minutes!
Maybe Dantonio can shed some light as to why he decided to delete his tweet.

Week 5 AP College Basketball poll revealed
December has just started but the 2018-2019 Big Ten basketball league schedule is already underway. Both Michigan (8-0) and Michigan State (6-2) won their opening game of conference play as both remain in the Associated Press Top 10.
On Monday, the Week 5 Associated Press College Basketball Top 25 was released and the Wolverines moved up to No. 5 (from No. 7) while the Spartans fell one spot to No. 10.
As you can see below, there are seven Big Ten teams included in this week’s Top 25 poll, with two more teams receiving votes.
