It does pay to play the Michigan Wolverines!
Michigan Football and the University of Hawaii are scheduled to butt heads in 2022, and the Wolverines will be paying $1.9 million to UH to do so. According to a Freedom of Information Act request, the guaranteed amount is the single biggest in Michigan history.
But that isn't the only major cash Michigan is shelling out. They'll also be paying $1.8 million each to Arkansas State University and Colorado State University for games in 2020 and 2022, as well as another $1.8 million for to East Carolina for a 2023 game at The Big House.
If either team backs out of the agreement, it must pay the other school a whopping $1.9 million cancellation fee.
The game is scheduled for September 10, 2022.
