Michigan Wolverines senior Jon Runyan has a lot of confidence in his team heading into the Citrus Bowl matchup against the No. 13 Alabama Crimson Tide on New Year's Day.
Maybe a little too confident.
“If you were to tell me we would be playing Alabama in a bowl game at the beginning of the year, I thought we would be in the national championship,” . “That is not the case this year, but it is another good program, great team. The stuff they have accomplished this past decade speaks for itself.
“We are not afraid. They are just another team. We are just excited going into this matchup.”
Of course, it wouldn't be entirely accurate to label Alabama as just “another team”. They've won five national championships in the past 10 years, while also playing for an additional two during that time. This season, they're scoring 48.3 points per game, good for second overall in the country.
Do the Wolverines have a chance against a still very dangerous Tide team?
