When you look at what the Michigan basketball team lost from last season, it is hard to say that winning 30 games and making it to the Sweet 16 is a failure and John Beilein understands that.

On Wednesday, Beilein and his wife were at Little Caesars Arena to watch the Detroit Pistons take on the Indiana Pacers and he was gracious enough to have a chat with Johnny Kane of Fox Sports Detroit.
At the end of the talk, Beilein was asked who he is rooting for in the Final Four and though he would not say the team name, his response made it obvious.
Now this is awesome. @JohnBeilein at the @DetroitPistons game tonight talking with @JohnnyKaneFSD. 😂

As we know, the only remaining team from the Big Ten is Michigan State, who beat the Wolverines three times this season. The Spartans take on Texas Tech on Saturday night. Texas Tech is the team that knocked out Beilein’s Wolverines in the Sweet 16.
We certainly do not expect Beilein to say, “Go Green, Go White,” but it is nice to know he is rooting for the team down the road. Now, if it was Ohio State, we are sure he would have a different answer!
