We are still about five months away from the start of the 2022 college football season, and with many teams around the nation already having their spring game, 247Sports has released their way-too-early bowl projections for the upcoming season.
As far as the Michigan Wolverines go, 247Sports believes they will be the second-best team and play in the Rose Bowl against USC.
Here is what 247Sports has to say about their projection for Michigan.
Projected matchup: Michigan vs. USC
Big Ten runner-up vs. Pac-12 champion? This could certainly happen to finish out the 2022 season, but USC is the obvious optimistic pick here. The Trojans, under first-year coach Lincoln Riley, could be nationally relevant quickly with Caleb Williams at quarterback. Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards should be able to maintain Michigan’s rushing prowess despite losing Hassan Haskins, and, if Michigan’s spring game was any indication, there are several breakout possibilities along the defensive front. If Michigan gets strong quarterback play out of J.J. McCarthy and Cade McNamara, there’s reason to believe the Wolverines have another strong shot at winning the conference.
Nation, how do you think Michigan will fare in 2022? Which bowl game do you think they will end up in?
