For 10 seasons, future Hall of Famers Miguel Cabrera and Justin Verlander played together as teammates while trying to lead the Detroit Tigers to their first World Series Championship since 1984.
Unfortunately, despite getting to the World Series together in 2012, Cabrera and Verlander were not able to help get the Tigers over the hump as they lost to the San Francisco Giants.
Miguel Cabrera and Justin Verlander are teammates once again
When the Tigers traded Verlander to the Houston Astros back in 2017, most assumed that he and Cabrera would never play together as teammates again.
On Friday news broke that Miggy had made the American League All-Star team as a Special Selection by MLB commissioner Rob Manfred and two days later, J.V. found out that he would be joining his former teammate in the 2022 MLB All-Star Game.
Justin Verlander, who pitching in his first season since having Tommy John surgery, is currently 11-3 with a 2.00 ERA and 0.871 WHIP in 16 starts for the Astros
Miguel Cabrera, who is now 39 years old, is batting .295 as he continues to lead the Tigers in batting average.
