For the second year in a rowMiguel Cabrera homered on his birthday. Last year it was a loud and massive shot to dead center field against the Tampa Bay Rays, this year a screaming line drive that barely cleared the left-field wall at Comerica Park. Either way, Miggy loves to celebrate his birthday with the long ball.

Watch Miguel Cabrera go deep to celebrate his birthday:

There is no doubt that Miguel Cabrera loves to hit on his birthday. Including the game today up until his at-bat in the sixth inning, Miguel has gone 21-52 (3.98 AVG), hit three bombs, drove in 10 runs, and hit six doubles. That’s pretty good.

The home run was also a significant one, as it moved Miggy ahead of Adrian Beltre and into 35th all-time on the home run list with 464 career home runs. But that’s not all. It also moved him into 34th place all-time on the RBI list, tied now with current Hall of Fame inductee Chipper Jones — each of them sporting a cool 1,623 RBIs.

There is no doubt that Miggy will continue to climb those leaderboards as he winds down his career. Especially if the Tigers continue to play games every April 18th. Happy Birthday, Big Fella — way to celebrate it in style.

LOOK: Miguel Cabrera slimmed down and ready for 2018

It’s been well documented that Miguel Cabrera had a bad year in 2017. If the Detroit Tigers are going to do anything this year, Miggy needs to bounce back.

Cabrera had the worst slash line of his career last year at .249/.329/.399. That’s far below his career average of .317/.395/.553. His 16 home runs and 60 RBIs were his lowest totals since his rookie year in 2003 with the Florida Marlins.
