After scoring 17 runs on Friday night, the hope was that the Detroit Tigers‘ bats had some hits left in them for Saturday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Well, Miguel Cabrera did his best to make sure the bats were wide awake.
With the Tigers already up 1-0 in the first inning, Cabrera launched a one-handed two-run home run to put the Tigers up 3-0.
The home run was Miggy’s 481st of his career and with the 2 RBIs, he now has 1,700 in his career, which moves him past Jim Thome for 24th place in MLB history.
