Mike Daniels debuts new jersey number for Lions

The Detroit Lions made another addition to their defensive line earlier this week, inking former Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Mike Daniels to a 1-year, $9.1 million contract ($7.8 guaranteed).

Throughout his career with the Packers, he wore jersey number 76. However, that number is currently taken by offensive lineman Oday Aboushi. So instead, Daniels will be wearing number 96 with Detroit.

With the addition of Daniels, the Lions added depth to a defensive unit that already boasts Trey Flowers, who was as a free agent this spring, as well as nose tackle Damon Harrison who was acquired in a trade with the New York Giants last fall. The team also returned Daโ€™Shawn Hand, Aโ€™Shawn Robinson and Romeo Okwara.
