In preparation for the 4PM Roster deadline – The Detroit Lions have decided to cut ties with running back Mikel Leshoure.
Leshoure never really took off as we anticipated in Detroit, either from lack luster performance, or a string of injuries that prevented him from being on the field.
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Leshoure has been informed of the cut.
The Lions have informed RB Mikel Leshoure he's being waived.

This cut means that the only remaining member of the 2011 draft class on the Lions is former first round draft pick Nick Fairley, and he has been demoted to the 2nd string.
Leshoure is only 24, and has some gas left in the tank. I am sure he will end up somewhere in the NFL, just not on the Detroit Lions.
