Keene, who previously played at UCF and Fresno State, transferred to Michigan ahead of the 2025 season with hopes of competing in the quarterback room. However, he never took a snap for the Wolverines before electing to move on.
Over his college career prior to Michigan, Keene appeared in 39 games, throwing for 8,245 yards, 65 touchdowns, and 28 interceptions while completing 67.8% of his passes. Despite that production, he was unable to crack the rotation in Ann Arbor.
His departure adds another wrinkle to a rapidly shifting Michigan QB situation as the program transitions into the Kyle Whittingham era.
More updates on Michigan’s evolving quarterback room are expected in the coming days.
