Minnesota Vikings tight end Irv Smith Jr. has undergone surgery to repair a meniscus tear, and his season is likely over before it even began. He suffered the injury during Minnesota’s preseason finale at Kansas City, and is now projected to miss the entire 2021 campaign:
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, his recovery time is projected to take between four and five months.
