Minor league news: Tigers release minor league players

The Detroit Tigers have made a couple moves down in their farm system Thursday, as they have announced the release of two players from the Double-A Erie SeaWolves.

Casper Wells signed a minor league deal with the Tigers during spring training and was in his second stint in the Detroit organization. In 15 games and 43 at bats this season, Wells was hitting just .209.

Omar Duran was another minor league sign who was not pitching well down in Erie. In seven games, Duran compiled an 8.64 ERA, giving up eight earned runs in 8 1/3 innings of work.
