According to reports, Major League Baseball has officially postponed the upcoming doubleheader between the St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers.
MLB and the Cardinals believe it’s important to continue additional testing while players and staff are quarantined before the team returns to play.
Due to a plethora of positive COVID-19 tests, the Cardinals have now had 15 games postponed and they have not played a game since July 30. Overall, their record is 2-3, while the Chicago Cubs lead their division with a 10-3 record.
As far as the 8-5 Tigers go, they are hosting the Chicago White Sox for a 3-game set at Comerica Park.
With the doubleheader on Thursday against the Cardinals being canceled, the Tigers will welcome the Cleveland Indians this coming Friday-Sunday.
