As the spread of COVID-19 continues, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended that events of 50 people or more to be restricted or outright cancelled.
To that end, Major League Baseball has released an official statement following a conference call with all 30 teams explaining that the start of the season has been pushed back further.
With the new recommendations, the earliest the season could start would be mid-May.
Spring Training has already been cancelled and the start of the season was originally pushed back two weeks.
