Tonight is UFC 182. While there is a ton of attention on the main event, a local guy is going to be stepping into the Octagon, and he is no slouch. Myles “Fury” Jury (6-0 UFC – 15-0-0 overall) from Hazel Park, Michigan will be stepping into the ring opposite Donald Cerrone (12-3 UFC) in the co-main event.
Fighter Info: Myles Jury
15-0-0 ( W-L-D )
Fighter Info: Donald Cerrone
25-6-0, 1NC ( W-L-D )
Jury is 155-pounds of pure destruction. He has won six straight since debuting in mid-2012 and holds victories over Diego Sanchez and Michael Johnson, among others. Jury last put down “The Fireball Kid” Takanori Gomi a few months back in Japan.
“Cowboy” Cerrone presents quite the challenge for Jury – Cerrone has won five in a row and six of his last seven. He has earned a Knockout of the Night, a Submission of the Night and a pair of Performances of the Night in his last five fights.
UFC President Dana White adds his thoughts on tonight’s match up:
“Everybody knows the kind of fighter that Cowboy [Cerrone] is, but this Jury kid is a bad dude,” White told Yahoo Sports. “It’s a great fight and it’s an important fight. [Jury] isn’t well known like Cowboy, but he will be after this fight. This is one of those fights I really like, because it can go so many ways and I just don’t see how it isn’t going to be a crazy, sick fight.”
