Mock Draft has Wings taking Luke Kunin in first round of 2016 NHL Draft

The 2016 NHL Draft, will take place at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York, is just over 3 weeks away and barring a trade, the Detroit Red Wings will pick 16th overall in the first round.

NHL.com’s Mike G. Morreale conducted his ‘mock draft’ and has the Red Wings selecting University of Wisconsin forward, Luke Kunin in the first round.

Morreale had this to say about Kunin.

“A lethal finisher capable of creating offense each shift.”

With the offensive woes that haunted the Red Wings this past season, that’s music to the ears of the Hockeytown faithful.

Kunin might not make the jump right away to the NHL like Dylan Larkin did this past season, but his skill set seems to be very intriguing and might give the Red Wings’ management no choice but to give him an opportunity.

The youth movement throughout the NHL is well documented, so seeing Kunin sooner rather than later wouldn’t be surprising in the least bit.

Here’s a highlight video of Luke Kunin’s freshman season at Wisconsin.

What do you think, Nation, would you like to see Kunin get drafted by the Red Wings?
