Iowa jumped out to a 35-0 lead in the first half alone, while Michigan State was unable to get anything going at all. The setback was their largest margin of a loss since a 48-3 defeat at Ohio State on November 11, 2017.
Following the loss, Spartans head coach Mel Tucker took responsibility for the loss, saying his team still had plenty of work to do.
The key for the Spartans, according to Mel Tucker, is how they’ll respond to this adversity:
The Spartans will return home to Spartan Stadium next week for a matchup against Indiana, who put the finishing touches on their first win over the Michigan Wolverines since 1987 this afternoon.
