Last week, three unidentified Michigan State football players and one program staffer were suspended in the wake of an ongoing investigation surrounding sexual assault claims. On Tuesday, one of the names was made public, and it was that of staffer Curtis Blackwell.

Blackwell has reportedly been suspended with pay, but no other details have been disclosed at this time.
Blackwell has been with the MSU program since 2013 and his duties include working in the recruiting department for the team as well as “serving as a mentor” for players on the team. He is also the former co-director of the Sound Mind, Sound Body football academy, which consists of various football camps nationwide driven to improve both skills and character of young, upcoming players.
Blackwell was last present serving his duties with the program back on National Signing Day, February 1. It was reported shortly after the initial story that the investigation could be wrapped up some time this week. The university is believed to be operating their own investigation, which will then be turned over at some point to the Ingham County Prosecutors’ Office. Michigan State is also opening up its own Title IX investigation into the football program, as well as hiring an independent law firm.
