The 2020 MLB trade deadline is today and as of now, our Detroit Tigers have yet to make a move.
Earlier this morning, I published an article where I listed 6 Tigers who could be traded prior to Monday's deadline and a few of those players have now been mentioned in some of the latest rumors floating around.
Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Tigers are drawing interest in catcher, Austin Romine.
From The Athletic:
The Tigers are drawing interest in catcher Austin Romine, but the return would need to exceed his value in helping develop young pitchers such as Casey Mize and Tarik Skrubal in the final month.
Romine, 31, was removed from the starting lineup Sunday because of right knee soreness, an issue that might end any chance of a trade. He is under contract only for the rest of this season.
Rosenthal also tweeted out that the Tampa Bay Rays are interested in Tigers LHP Daniel Norris.
Among players in whom the Rays are showing interest, according to sources: Tigers left-hander Daniel Norris…and, ahem, Rangers right fielder Joey Gallo. Padres also have shown interest in Gallo, along with seemingly every other available player with a heartbeat!

The third Tigers player who has been mentioned is OF Cameron Maybin, who has reportedly drawn interest from the Chicago Cubs.
Tigers GM Al Avila said on Friday that he was not interested in giving up any prospects to acquire more talent to win in the short term but he did say he would be willing to listen to offers if he felt they would improve the team down the line. Some of those moves could involve veteran players like those mentioned above/
