It was no surprise whatsoever but on Monday the Detroit Lions were finally able to announce Matt Patricia as their next head coach.

Patricia, of course, is the former defensive coordinator of the New England Patriots. On Sunday, the Patriots lost in Super Bowl LII to the Philadelphia Eagles in what was one of the greatest Super Bowls in NFL history.

Following the news, John Whitaker (AKA @Wrath_Of_John) posted the following Lion King-themed welcome video for Patricia and it is amazing.

The worst-kept secret in all of football was who the next coach of the Detroit Lions would be. Plain and simple, it’s Matt Patricia. After the firing of Jim Caldwell, many looked to Patrica as the only option for the Lions, and since he’s been donned the savior of the franchise. The announcement was made official Monday according to the Lions twitter account.

There is no question about it, Super Bowl LII between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles certainly lived up to the pregame hype.
