If you were watching CBS’ Thursday Night Football matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears, you probably needed to be looking for another form of entertainment. The Packers crushed their NFC North rival by a score of 35-14 to improve to 3-1 on the season. Ho-hum.
The real story involved the Twitter bro-mance between another NFC North inhabitant, Golden Tate of the Detroit Lions, and the Butterfinger candy bar.
Butterfinger started the chain of events after Chicago coughed up a ridiculously Bears-like fumble in the first quarter.

The king of candy’s response.
Butter…knees? #CHIvsGB

Golden Tate appreciated the mocking of his rivals.
.@Butterfinger Going after one of my NFC north rivals? Did we just become best friends? ???????? https://t.co/WxwzEmQMoE

The newfound BFFs go full on Step Brothers.
We did.

The one that would demolish bears. Oh wait…that’s all of them ????

This have been fun, I have to get my sleep big game this weekend, but before I leave just wanted to say……#JustSayin pic.twitter.com/FxYuVZxCf7

There’s an obvious Eric Ebron joke to be made here and we at DSN, in good conscience, cannot drop the ball on that.
Tate and Butterfinger did an excellent job of keeping those of us who were still only watching in hopes of gaining fantasy football points engaged. What this win by the Packers actually means for the Lions is that in order to keep pace in the division, we must put the Atlanta game behind us and prove we can compete with and rank among the best teams in the NFC.
If you have read this far, thank you, your reward is extra bonus tweets of Butterfinger ethering the Bears official Twitter account. Enjoy.
Stick to candy.
