MUST SEE: J.D. Martinez guns down Jay Bruce at home for final out as Tigers beat Mets

On Saturday night, the Detroit Tigers jumped out to a 6-1 lead before the New York Mets managed to scrape their way back to within one run, heading into the top of the ninth inning.

In the ninth, Tigers closer Francisco Rodriguez retired the first two batters of the inning, but then gave up back-to-back singles to Jay Bruce and Alejandro De Aza, with Travis d’Arnaud coming to the plate. That’s when the magic of Tigers right fielder J.D. Martinez continued.

See for yourself.

The Tigers held on for a 6-5 win to remain 2 GB the Cleveland Indians for 1st place in the A.L. Central.
