In 1979, the Joe Louis Arena was constructed for $57 million.
Now, 40 years later, it is being demolished.
On Thursday morning, Brad Galli tweeted out the following photo showing the demolition of the interior of the JLA and it is very sad.

The plan is for the arena to be completely demolished by the end of 2019 or by early 2020.
