So, have you ever wondered to yourself if any Detroit Red Wings players could slam dunk a basketball?

No? Ok, neither have we but we found out anyways on Wednesday as Red Wings RW Andreas Athanasiou was filmed throwing one down at Little Caesars Arena.

Check it out.

Though this was pretty impressive for Athanasiou, who is 6-feet-2, 188 lbs, we think he should probably stick to his day job, especially considering the Detroit Pistons don’t seem to need much help at this point.

So, who is the first Pistons player who will lace up the ice skates and attempt a breakaway? After second thought, maybe it would be safer if both teams just stuck to what they are paid to do!

Little Caesars Arena first combined venue to earn SAFETY Act Certification

Everyone can take solace in the fact that when management and ownership at Little Caesars Arena say they care about your safety, they mean it. Operated and managed by Olympia Entertainment, Little Caesars Arena officially becomes the first combined NHL and NBA venue to receive Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act Certification. It’s the highest level of protection awarded.

The Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act (SAFETY), part of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, encourages anti-terrorism technologies and practices to be created and used in modern entertainment venues, and other places where large crowds of people gather. Comerica Park and Little Caesars Arena are the only professional sports venues under the same ownership to receive such certification. Comerica Park received the honors back in 2015.
