Mystery at Comerica Park: 3 Detroit Tigers pitchers have yet to been seen

As the days go by, we are hearing that more and more Major League Baseball players have tested positive for COVID-19. In fact, as of Monday, at least 22 MLB teams have announced they have had players test positive.

The Detroit Tigers have yet to announce that any players have tested positive (or if they have not had any) for COVID-19 but as Anthony Fenech has noted, the team “apparently would prefer for us to publicly identify these players and speculate about the reason for their absences.”

On Tuesday, Jennifer Hammond of Fox 2 added that pitchers Daniel Norris, Tarik Skubal, and Alex Faedo have not yet been seen at Summer Camp and the Tigers have explained their absence.

Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reported that Tigers pitching coach Rick Anderson refused to shed any light on the situation and he directed the question to the front office.

“I don’t really know what the deal is with them,” he said.

This is certainly a situation to monitor considering the 2020 season begins in just over 2 weeks.
