Five Pistons targets still playing in the NCAA tourney

Player: Trey Lyles, University of Kentucky, Freshman, Power-Forward, Ht: 6’10, Wt: 250 lbs

Strengths: Trey Lyles is a skilled big man offensively and is in the right spot more often than not. Lyles has a great face up game and has shown the ability to consistently hit shots along the perimeter. Good rebounder who looks to push the ball down the court and get his teammates easy transition baskets. Lyles is a team guy and as unselfish as they come.

Weaknesses: Not a lot of untapped potential with Lyles, he must improve on his shot blocking ability and contesting shots in the paint. Lyles’ athleticism must improve if he is going to be able to be an effective player against NBA bigs.

Stan Van Gundy and the Pistons’ front office will have a busy off-season deciding how they want to construct their roster to make a serious playoff push. Depending how the draft lottery shakes out, they’d find themselves fortunate to land one of the targets above. Stay tuned.
