College football recruiting is an important part of the success of all top football programs. Both University of Michigan and Michigan State University are expecting solid classes this season. As always there are a few recruits remaining that have not yet declared where they will attend school next year.
As the excitement builds towards National Signing Day this Wednesday, here are the top uncommitted recruits that Jim Harbaugh and Mark Dantonio are hoping to sign.
MICHIGAN
Aubrey Solomon, 5-star, DT — Leesburg, Georgia
- Solomon is the No. 2 defensive tackle in the country. Just imagine a Wolverine defensive line with Solomon lined up next to Rashan Gary.
Jay Tufele, 4-star, DT — South Jordan, Utah
- Could Michigan land the No. 3 defensive tackle as well? Experts seem to think Tufele will stay in Utah, but, you never know with Jim Harbaugh at the helm.
Mekhi Becton, 3-star OT — Highland Springs, Virginia
- Listed at 6-foot-7 and 345 pounds, Becton could have an immediate impact on the rebuilding Michigan offensive line.
Nico Collins, 4-star WR — Pinson, Alabama
- The nation’s No. 23 wide receiver would be a steal from Nick Saban– led territory.
Oliver Martin, 4-star, WR — Iowa City, Iowa
- Michigan will have to overcome a strong push from the Iowa Hawkeyes to land the talented receiver.
MICHIGAN STATE
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, 3-star ATH — Hampton, Virginia
- The No. 31 athlete in the class of 2017, Owusu-Koramoah would be a nice injection of quickness to the MSU lineup.
Ameer Speed, 3-star CB — Jacksonville, Florida
- Cornerback is a significant need for this class for Dantonio. The Spartans would have to flip Speed from the Georgia Bulldogs who have the lead in his recruitment currently.
Lionel Cummings, 3-star OLB — Bartow, Florida
- Underrated athlete could add some depth at linebacker for MSU.
Johnathan Lovett, 3-star RB — Burlington, New Jersey
- The Spartans will need to overcome a late push from the Baylor Bears to land this speedy running back.
Oliver Martin, 4-star WR — Iowa City, Iowa
- Sure, beating out the Hawkeyes would be great for MSU. However, stealing Martin away from the Wolverines? Priceless.
