NBA All-Star Weekend to host player fashion show

Do you have zero cares about Friday’s Rookie/Sophomore Showcase? Are you tired of watching the same old routine of people shooting basketballs over and over from 23’9” in Saturday’s Three-Point Shootout? Do you yearn for the days when dunk greats like Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, and Vince Carter put on a show in the Dunk Contest?

Well don’t worry, the NBA has a cure for your All-Star Weekend blues: an NBA player fashion show.

Per AP report:

All-Stars James Harden, Klay Thompson and DeMarcus Cousins are among the players to compete in the NBA’s first fashion show.

Produced by LeBron James’ Springhill Production Company, the one-hour “NBA All-Star All-Style” will be taped Friday night inside New York’s Hammerstein Theater and air Saturday at 6:30 p.m. EST on TNT.

Further, and we’re not making this up, there will apparently be three rounds: dressing for the boardroom, dressing for a night out, and attire worn to a game. The competition will begin with eight players and slowly be whittled down to two finalists decided by judges Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and WNBA star Elena Delle Donne.

We’re pretty sure any remaining shred of journalistic integrity we had just went flying out the window after reporting this piece.
