If you think back to Jim Caldwell‘s final year as head coach of the Detroit Lions, it was very clear that a vast majority of the fans wanted him fired as soon as possible, despite his own players standing up for him.

As we know, Caldwell was fired and he was replaced by Matt Patricia, who has been an absolute train wreck since taking over.
But what is odd is that as Patricia becomes more and more vilified as the days go by, Caldwell has seemingly become a folk hero around these parts.
Not only are Lions fans taking to social media to say they wish Caldwell was the head coach again, but some of his former players have also felt the need to publicly praise him

The lastest former Lions player to give some love to his Caldwell is Ndamukong Suh. While doing so, Suh called out the Lions by noting that Caldwell was not giving the opportunity to make crucial decisions.
Schwartz was a good coach , Caldwell was the answer and didn’t get the ample opportunity to fully put his finger prints on the team, let alone make crucial decisions for further success !
Additionally, the community If I’m not mistaken loved and fully embraced the Caldwell’s!

Nation, do you think Caldwell was given a raw deal in Detroit?
